Friday, September 4

Start the long weekend with racing, markets and a relaxed evening in Durham Region.

CTMP Labour Day Weekend Sprints

The CTMP Labour Day Weekend Sprints kick off on Friday at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Clarington, the region's marquee motorsport venue. Practice and qualifying sessions run through the day, setting up a weekend of racing. Beyond the track, fans can explore paddock access, the CTMP Marketplace, food trucks and a beer garden in the Clarington community.

Friday Farmers Markets

The Oshawa Centre Farmers' Market runs from 8 AM to 2 PM in the south parking lot of the Oshawa Centre, with fresh produce, meats, baked goods and artisan vendors. It runs weekly through October 23.

The Bowmanville Farmers Market sets up at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex (2440 Durham Regional Highway 2) from 9 AM to 2 PM, offering local produce, flowers and prepared foods from area growers.

Saturday, September 5

Saturday is the heart of the long weekend, with the Port Perry Fair, racing and markets all on the go.

The Port Perry Fair

The Port Perry Fair is the region's signature Labour Day weekend event. Held at the Port Perry Fairgrounds (15835 Old Simcoe Rd) from Saturday September 5 through Monday September 7, it celebrates agriculture with a midway, livestock shows and contests, homecraft and baking exhibits, a beef auction, a beer tent, and a demolition derby at the grandstand. Gates open around 9:30 AM and the midway at 10 AM each day. Admission is $15 a day for adults, $10 for children 5 to 13, and free for children under 4; a $40 adult weekend pass covers all three days plus the Sunday concert. Port Perry Lakefront Farmers' Market

The Port Perry Lakefront Farmers' Market runs from 8 AM to 3 PM at the waterfront (081 Water Street), the same weekend as the fair. With roughly 71 vendors, it is one of the largest markets in Durham Region. Shop for fresh seasonal produce, farm-fresh eggs, artisan cheeses, baked goods, honey, maple syrup and handmade crafts, then stroll the historic Queen Street shops or walk the Lake Scugog boardwalk nearby.

The North Oshawa Farmers' Market runs from 8 AM to 1 PM at the Oshawa Legends Centre South West Parking Lot (1661 Harmony Road North). The Bowmanville Farmers Market moves to Central Public School (120 Wellington Street) in downtown from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Saturday Night at the Track

Back at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, NASCAR Canada practice and qualifying run on Saturday ahead of Sunday's feature race. The weekend's Saturday-night highlight is live music and fireworks at CTMP, a fun way to close out the day. Buy tickets on the CTMP events page.

Sunday, September 6

Close out the weekend with the fair's big concert, Sunday markets, and the NASCAR feature race.

The Wanted at the Port Perry Fair

Sunday is the closing show at the Port Perry Fair, with live entertainment including a concert by The Wanted at the fairgrounds. Your weekend pass gets you into the fair and the concert, a great reason to make a day of it with the family. It is the perfect capstone to a weekend spent exploring Port Perry.

Uxbridge Farmers' Market

The Uxbridge Farmers' Market runs Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM at The Second Wedge Brewing Co. (14 Victoria Street) in the Uxbridge community. With 30-plus vendors offering local produce, artisan foods, crafts and prepared goods, it is a perfect relaxed Sunday morning stop.

NASCAR Feature Race

Sunday brings the marquee feature race of the CTMP Labour Day Weekend Sprints, with the NASCAR Canada Series taking the track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. With the Canadian Tire Fun Zone and family activities alongside the racing, it is an exciting day out in Clarington.

Art and Waterfront
